Signed last season in the January transfer window as cover for injured Stefan Klos, performed so well that he has now established himself as number 1 ahead of Stefan Klos. Cool character and well loved by the fans.
DEFENDERS

3

French.

Rangers signed the ex Newcastle fullback as a replacement for the departing Michael Ball. He stepped straight into Ball's place in the team as well as his shirt number. Bernard has plenty of experience with Newcastle and Southampton.

Scottish.

12. Bob Malcolm.BOB MALCOLM
Bob Malcolm is a dye hard Rangers fan and came through the ranks at Ibrox. Made his debut in 2000 and has been part of the first team set up ever since. Plays in defence but can also play in midfield when needed.

Another signing from the French league, arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. Former Paris captain and a classy player. Scored on his debut against Livingston.

20

Scottish.

20. Alan Hutton.ALAN HUTTON
Another player to come through the ranks at Murray Park. Surely a regular in the team for years to come but currently battling back to fitness after breaking a leg last season.

34

Scottish.

34. Steven Smith.STEVEN SMITH
Broke into the first team last season and looks like a real prospect for the future. Hoping to get more starts this season and establish himself in the first team.
MIDFIELDERS

2

Dutch.

2. Fernando Ricksen.FERNANDO RICKSEN
A firm favourite with the fans Ricksen was signed by Dick Advocaat back in 2000. He had a disappointing start to his career but has come on leaps and bounds and is a driving force in midfield.

4

Belgian.

4. Thomas Buffel.THOMAS BUFFEL
The Belgian international was signed from Feyenoord in January last season and after a slow start finally started paying off his transfer fee with some fine performances. Looks a class act.

6

Scottish.

6. Barry Ferguson.BARRY FERGUSON captain
Given his debut way back in the Walter Smith era, the local lad is the brother of former Ranger Derek and has proven to be a classy midfielder. Made captain of Rangers before heading to Blackburn but came back this year and is now captain of Rangers again as well as Scotland.

7

French.

7. Brahim Hemdani.BRAHIM HEMDANI
Former Marseille captain Hemdani was one of McLeish's first signings of the summer. He is very highly rated but has yet to make his competitive debut due to an injury picked up against Linfield in July.

Alex Rae was let go by Rangers back in the 80's and told he wasn't good enough. He now finds himself back at Ibrox after spells with Millwall, Sunderland and Wolves. Even at 36 years old he is still a useful member of the squad and full of energy.

11

Scottish.

11. Gavin Rae.GAVIN RAE
Gavin Rae was signed from Dundee on New Year's day 2004, he made his debut against Celtic at Parkhead. He has been very unlucky with injury and hasn't had the chance to show what he can do. Hopes to be back sometime this season.

17

Scottish.

17. Chris Burke.CHRIS BURKE
A product of Murray Park, scored on his debut against Kilmarnock near the end of the 2001/2002 season. Has shown great promise but fell out of things recently since going down with a bug in the Aberdeen game last season.

24

Scottish.

24. Ian Murray.IAN MURRAY
First signing of this season, Alex McLeish had been chasing him for a while and finally landed his man. Very versatile and already looks like a great player from his performances this season. Best played at right back or central midfield.

26

Danish.

26. Peter Lovenkrands.PETER LOVENKRANDS
Reputation for scoring vital goals against Celtic. Has been a great player for the club but fell out of form last season and McLeish tried to move him on. Still here though and looking like getting back that old form once again.

STRIKERS

9

Croatian.

9. Dado Prso.DADO PRSO
Came in on a bosman last season and is surely the best bit of business Alex McLeish has done as Rangers manager. Prso has been superb since signing for Rangers, scoring goals and working hard for the team. A real fans favourite,

10

Spanish.

10. Nacho Novo.NACHO NOVO
The little spaniard was a bit hit last season weighing in with over 20 goals. Seems to have dipped in form this season and signing of Jeffers has put his place under threat. Hopefully the competition will spur him back to form.

15

Italian.

15. Filippo Maniero.FILIPPO MANIERO

A rare starter for Rangers but has proved to be a useful player coming off the bench and scoring valuable goals. Signed from Dundee Utd a few seasons ago. Unlucky not to start more often but has Prso in front of him in the queue.

21

English.

21. Francis Jeffers.FRANCIS JEFFERS
